How We Work

We start work with the structure of the website. We map out a rough idea of the pages required and the information that will be on them and the we start work on the design of the first page, the Home page. We will take into account any existing branding or design specifics that you might want to include. We will create initial design ideas on pdf for you to review and when ready we will begin to build the site on a platform such as WordPress. More than one third of the worlds websites are built on WordPress and it is an extremely robust platform on which to design and build a website. We can use other platforms if they best suit your requirements.

We will build the Home page first focusing on the look and feel on the page. We will continue with each page adding dummy content as we go (words and images) while we are building and developing the site. We will add all of the functionality required to make the site do what we want it to and we will make it quick and easy to navigate around. We will include a back-end Content Management System that you will be able to log into to manage the site ongoing if you wish. We will start to add real content and we will work with you to understand the message – the right words with the best supporting images – that each page portrays.

We will write all of the content for every page, making sure it is clear and engaging for your visitors. We will include any imagery you have and can help source more images if required. We will apply Search Engine Optimisation when writing content. We will use ‘keywords and phrases’ that describe who you are and what you do in all content, including in areas behind the scenes that visitors don’t see or notice but search engines do. Key words and phrases include the kind of words that people searching for a website like yours will use in their search, ensuring the site will appear in search engine results. We will ask you to review all content at every stage to make sure you are happy with the way we are writing things and that we are accurate in our assertions. Obviously the more content that you can provide the better.

We will thoroughly stress test the site from an end user point of view, trying to find errors and where things don’t work. We will fix and tweak as we go until every part of the site has been double checked. We will ask for your support with this if you are available. We will add Google Analytics tracking software on to the website. This enables us to track lots of information such as the number of visitors that land on the site, where they found the site, how long they stay and what pages they look at etc. When we are ready we will publish the website live onto the internet. We will then thoroughly stress test the live site. We will alert all search engines that the site exists and what content it includes so it will be included in search engines listings.
